About her Debut
Although movies like Pinocchio, Dumbo, and Bambi are family favorites, they actually lost money because the box office profits didn’t exceed how much it took to make those movies, the company was deep in debt. Looking back on how much people loved Snow White, Walt realized that people love an “underdog” story, someone to root for. Historians say that Disney may have been attracted to Cinderella because like his own life Cinderella was an “underdog” story. Cinderella made so much money that Disney was able to get his debt paid off and save the company.

From the time I started making motion pictures I dreamed of bringing Sleeping Beauty to life through…. animation.
